A trio of Albany cross country girls will run at the first meet of the season next Wednesday, Sept. 2 in Haskell.

The meet is being conducted in flights throughout the day to reduce the number of runners participating at the same time. Albany will run at 9:00 a.m. in the first flight.

“They have split the competition into flights to reduce the possible exposure to the coronavirus,” coach Tate Thompson said. “We only have three girls competing this season at the high school level, but there are four others who are doing the workouts to stay in shape as part of our off-season program.”

Albany will travel to Eula on Sept. 8. The local girls are on the schedule to run at 11:00 a.m.

Thompson reported that he has a handful of runners in the junior high division, but they will not attend the Haskell meet.
