Conner Hail earns all-state mention

Moran’s Connor Hail added to his list of postseason honors last week when he was named an honorable mention selection on the Texas Six-Man Coaches Association All-State football team for Class 1A Division II as a punter.

Earlier last month, Hail was named first-team punter on the All-Region IV Division II team. He also earned first-team honors at running back and punter on the All-District 14-1A Division II team.

Hail, a junior, averaged 26.1 yards on 16 attempts with a long kick of 47 yards. Six of his punts were downed inside the opponents’ 20-yard line.

Jake Popham of Loraine was named Coach of the year, Grayson Rigdon of Benjamin was named Player of the Year, A.J. Williams of Loraine was named Offensive MVP, Brody White of Benjamin was named Defensive MVP, and Sean Stanaland of Jayton was named Newcomer of the Year. The all-state team included 96 selections  on first and second teams and honorable mention representing 32 schools.
