Club Championship to Close AGC Season
Albany Golf Club will close out its 2026 tournament schedule this weekend with the annual members-only Club Championship, set for Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 10-11.
This year’s event will feature three divisions based on tee selection. The Club Champion division will compete from the championship blue or white tees, while the Senior Champion division will play from the black or red tees. A Women’s Champion will also be recognized based on participation. A player’s tee selection will determine division eligibility.
Scheduled tee times will begin at 1 p.m. both days, replacing the traditional come-and-go format.
New trophies have also been established to recognize the club’s history. The Club Champion will receive the Ben Scott Trophy, named for the wildcatter who helped establish Albany Golf Club in 1924. The Senior Champion will receive the Ralph Boling Trophy, honoring the longtime member and his contributions to AGC, while the Women’s Champion will receive the Emma Davis Trophy, named for one of Albany’s earliest women golfers.
Three positions on the Albany Golf Club Board of Directors are also open this year, with voting to take place during the annual meeting at 12:00 p.m. Saturday. Members unable to attend the meeting may contact board president Shawn Sutton at (325) 514-3789 to vote early.
