Four Albany cross country runners are scheduled to compete in the district meet today in Anson.

Originally set for Wednesday, the meet was moved to Thursday (today) because of the weather, and will still be run at the Anson Golf Course.

The varsity girls division is set to start at 10:30 a.m.

The Albany girls improved their times last week at the Munday meet, just in time for the district meet.

“I’m glad we got a meet in the last two weeks,” coach Tate Thompson. “We missed a couple of weeks earlier in the season and that hurt us.”

The coach said he thinks the girls will be prepared for the district meet.

Placing at the Munday meet on last Wednesday were: 13. Briley Tabor 14:13, 19. Sidney Russell 15:19, 21. Maci Hatchett  14:50, 27. Brylee Moore 15:02.

The top three teams of four at the district meet will advance to the regional meet, along with any medalists with the top 10 times who were not on an advancing team.

The regional meet is set for Nov. 10 at the University of Texas at Arlington campus.
