Six players from the Moran Bulldogs earned spots on the All-District 14-1A Division II football team, including four at multiple positions.

While Moran struggled through an 0-10 season, coach John Hughes said district coaches recognized the team’s achievement of making it through the season with no depth.

“All the other coaches were impressed with the fact that we played all season long with six or seven guys,” Hughes said.

Junior Connor Hail earned first team honors at running back and punter. Hail rushed for 778 yards with eight touchdowns and caught five passes for 35 yards. He averaged 26.1 yards on 16 punts with six inside the 20.

Junior Caleb York was named to the first team at wide receiver and second team at linebacker. York had a team-high 14 receptions for 104 yards. On defense, he had 41 tackles with two fumble recoveries

Junior Zech Henderson and sophomore Ellis Hise were two-way picks on the second team, Henderson at tight end and defensive line and Hise at quarterback and safety.

Henderson caught two passes for 28 yards. He made 18 tackles on defense.

Hise completed 32 of 105 passes for 309 yards with three touchdowns. He recorded 32 total tackles with a fumble recovery and an interception.

Senior Tyler Waddell was a second-team pick at wide receiver with sophomore Cotten Campbell named second team at spread center.

Waddell caught five passes for  a team-leading 118 yards with three TDs. Campbell caught seven passes for 30 yards.
