Bulldogs to face Northside this Friday

The Moran Bulldogs encountered another rough night on offense Friday, Sept. 30 in a 52-0 loss to the Rochelle Hornets at Bulldog Field.

The Bulldogs (0-6) close out the nondistrict portion of their schedule at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7 at Vernon Northside before taking their open date.

Against 13th-ranked Rochelle (6-1), Moran was held to negative 17 total yards.

Rochelle led 14-0 at the end of the first quarter before erupting for 38 points in the second to end the game at halftime.

Moran quarterback Ellis Hise was 2 of 10 passing for 32 yards, but was sacked five times as the Bulldogs finished with minus 49 rushing yards.

Caleb York had one reception for 23 yards and  Cotten Campbell caught a pass for a 9-yard gain.

York led Moran with four total tackles. Ethan Boykin was in on three stops with Connor Hail getting two and Campbell one.

Facing Northside

In Northside, the Bulldogs take on their second Division I opponent of the season. Moran played Baird in Week 2.

The Indians (3-3) are coming off a 44-13 win over Forestburg. Northside’s other wins, against Afton
Patton Springs and Paint Creek, were both ended early on the 45-point rule. Two of the Indians’ losses also ended early.
