The Moran Bulldogs tied up their season 3-3 with a 46-24 win in Gustine last Friday night.

Tomorrow, Oct. 26,  the varsity boys play their first ever game in District 6, in Bulldog Stadium, at 7:30 p.m., coming in as 45 point underdogs to the visiting Blackwell Hornets.

Blackwell, also new to District 6, is expected to be the powerhouse. The Hornets did not lose a single game last year until the second round of the playoffs, and so far this season they have defeated four of their seven opponents by 45 points or more.

Moran lost to Blackwell 21-40 last year, and Friday’s game should be the Bulldogs’ biggest challenge in district this year.

The varsity boys face Loraine on Nov. 2 and Trent on Nov. 9, but both of those teams are still looking for their first win of the season.

The junior high Bulldogs lost to Trent 39-51 on Thursday, Oct. 18.

“We played hard,” said coach Matthew Hise. “Our boys made some good plays and we are improving every week.”

The junior high football team travels to Blackwell for a 6:00 p.m. match tonight, Oct. 25.

The Lady Bulldogs had a bye on Saturday. Both volleyball squads took to the court for the season finale in front of a home crowd on Tuesday night. Results from the Oct. 23 games with Woodson were not available as of press time.
