Bulldogs defeat Lohn 40-0

The Moran Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs enjoyed a productive week with the volleyball team recording its first win of the season on Thursday, Aug. 24, while the football team opened its schedule Friday, Aug. 25 by beating Lohn 40-0.

Football

Ellis Hise rushed for 214 yards and three touchdowns in addition to throwing a TD pass as the Bulldogs rolled past the Eagles.

Moran looks to build on that success Friday, Sept. 1 with a visit to Baird.

Against Lohn, Moran led 20-0 in the first quarter.

Hise, who carried 17 times, scored on runs of 18, 14 and 9 yards. He connected with Caleb York for a 31-yard score. York had a 2-yard TD run and finished with 62 yards on eight carries.

Landon Moreno scored on a 21-yard pass from Garrett Hamilton, who went 4 of 7 for 32 yards.

Volleyball

On Tuesday, Aug. 29, Moran visited Gustine for the second time this season. Moran visits Trent at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2.

On Tuesday, Aug. 22, Moran lost 11-25, 11-25, 12-25 at Roscoe.

At the Abilene TLCA tournament, Moran finished third in its pool by beating X• Academy’s homeschool team 27-25, 25-19. Other pool matches were a 16-25, 10-25 loss to TLCA and an 8-25, 8-25 loss to the Woodson JV.

In bracket play on Saturday, Aug. 26, Moran was eliminated with a 10-25, 8-25 loss to the Woodson varsity.
