Bulldog track teams run in Gordon
The Moran junior high and high school track teams traveled to Gordon last Thursday, March 7 to begin their 2019 track season, and each of the MISD teams brought back several ribbons from the event.
“It was a fantastic meet put on by the Gordon community and coaching staff,” said Moran head coach Harley Ethridge. “All of our participants competed proudly and represented the Moran school and community with exhibitions of sportsmanship and excellent determination.”
The coach said that standouts included senior Bulldog Kobee Lapp, Lady Bulldog Reshaley Schafer, and junior high competitor Braxton Ethridge. Each of the three racked up individual points and also helped their respective relay teams garner points.
Lapp scored 38 individual points by winning the high jump, triple jump, and 200 meter dash. He also placed second in the long jump.
Schafer earned 18 individual points by winning the 100 meter dash and taking second in the 200 meter dash.
Braxton Ethridge scored 40 points by securing first places in the high jump, long jump, 300 meter hurdles, and the 200 meter dash.
“The Moran track teams will split up to attend the Blackwell track meets after spring break,” coach Ethridge said. “Keep ‘em running, Bulldogs!”
