Albany’s teams in the BigCountryYouthBasketball Associationmadetheir second outing of the season Saturday, Jan. 13, with the girls hosting games and the boys playing at Merkel.

Theboysteamswillplay at home Saturday, Jan. 20, while the girls teams take an open date because too many players are involved in this weekend’s local stockshow.Thesixthgrade boys play Eula at 9:00 a.m. and Anson at 10:00 a.m. The fifth grade boys play Jim Ned Blue at 9:00 a.m. and Eula at 10:00 a.m.

GIRLS Sixth Grade

Albany’s sixth grade girls won twice, beating Hawley 15-12 and Merkel 18-8.

Against Hawley, Burkley Yeates scored 11 points, with Presley Rosales and Karter Thompson each scoring two.

Against Merkel, Yeates had 12 points with Loralie Balliew adding eight, Thompson six, and Kimberly Howe two. In the Jan. 6 games at Eula, Albany beat Eula 29-23 and lost to Hawley 23-14.

Against Eula, Yeates scored 18 points, followed by Thompson with five, Howe with four and Balliew with two.

Against Hawley, Yeates had six points, Thompson five, Rosales two, and Howe one.

Fifth Grade

The Albany fifth grade girls pulled out two close wins, beating Hawley 11-7 and Merkel 10-7.

Against Hawley, Addisyn Peacock scored seven pointsandRomieHinshaw scored four.

Against Merkel, Peacock had six points with Laramie Oliver and Madison Swert scoring two apiece.

BOYS Sixth Grade

At Merkel, the sixth grade boys split, falling to Jim Ned 25-6 and beating Hawley 18-7.

Against Jim Ned, Luke Smith scored four points andTankJohnsonhadtwo.

Against Hawley, Luke Smith scored eight points, Patton Smith scored six, and Johnson added four.

Fifth Grade

Albany’s fifth grade boys suffered two losses, falling 23-3 to Jim Ned and 10-5 to Merkel.
