A group of parents met last week on Monday, June 28 to elect new officers for the Albany Athletic Booster Club (AABC) and begin making plans for fall events.

Officers elected at the meeting include Ginny Ivy – president, Amanda Tabor – vice president, Sara Birkla – treasurer, and Christi Chapman and Cari Heatly – co-secretaries.

Jennifer Bowman will head up food organization for the football concession stand.

Club officers are looking for one other person to help Bowman and help organize worker sign-ups.

“As a reminder, each sport is assigned a night to work,” volunteer and outgoing officer Tisha Wilkins explained. “In order to keep the concession stand open, please sign up on your assigned night. Parents may have to work more than one night if their child plays more than one sport.”

The Athletic Booster Club will operate the concession stand from the start of the football season until Homecoming, when the Band Boosters will take over.

Ivy will lead the organization of the football program, while Heatly will help operate the Spirit Shop for the season.

Kristie Smith is in charge of the upcoming Hamburger Supper.

The AABC is planning another meeting on Monday, July 12 at 6:00 p.m. at the Feed Store.

Volunteers will discuss the football program and Hamburger Supper plans.

“We encourage every parent of an athlete to be at the meeting,” Ivy said.

Team Mom sign-ups have begun. A list will be posted soon, or parents can contact Chapman at 325-338-3189 or Heatly at 325-762-5137.
