The Albany Athletic Booster Club met on July 12 to discuss plans for the annual Hamburger Supper and other fall events.

The annual event will be held at the Bank Park on Aug. 9 at 6:00 p.m.

The meal includes a hamburger, drink, chips, and ice cream for $8.

Cheerleaders will provide ice cream for the event.

All athletic supporters are encouraged to attend the supper.

The Booster Club still needs volunteers to grill burgers.

Booster Club vice president Amanda Tabor said people wanting to volunteer can go to the Athletic Booster Club facebook page and sign up from a link there or can contact Kristie Smith for details.

Albany Lion varsity and JV football teams, cheerleaders, volleyball players, and cross country teams will be introduced.

Tabor said senior athletes need to meet at the Picket House at 5:45 p.m. for a picture before the supper.

Young girls who participate in next week’s cheer camp will perform a variety of cheers and dance routines at the hamburger supper.

The Booster Club will have t-shirts available for the 2021 football and volleyball seasons, according to Tabor.

Lion and Lady Lion supporters can also order buttons from cheerleaders during the supper.

Booster Club members plan to have another meeting before the supper, but a date wasn’t set at press time.

Booster Club officers for the 2021-2022 school year are Ginny Ivy - president, Amanda Tabor - vice president, Sara Birkla - treasurer, and Christi Chapman and Cari Heatly - co-secretaries.

Program ad deadline coming up quickly

Albany school supporters have until Monday, July 26 to order an ad for the Albany Athletic Booster Club’s 2021 football program.

“The deadline is the 26th because we will need some time to put the rest of the program together,” vice president Amanda Tabor said.

The program is sold at home football games and is the Booster Club’s biggest fundraiser of the year.

The money raised will help support all secondary school sports.

Ad prices for the school year are $30 for a business card size, $60 for a quarter page, $120 for a half page, and $225 for a full page.

Those wanting to purchase an ad can contact any Booster Club officer, according to Tabor.

“New businesses for the fall can contact officers about ads,” Tabor said. “We have some new businesses contact information, but we do not have everyone’s.”

Tabor can be contacted at 325-762-0320.

Other officers for the 2021-2022 school year are Ginny Ivy, Sara Birkla, Christi Chapman, and Cari Heatly.
