Booster Club gears up for 2025 fall sports season

The Albany Athletic Booster Club has begun preparations for the 2025-26 school year with new leadership and upcoming events to engage the community.

Kristie Smith will serve as the club’s president this year. Supporting her in leadership roles are vice presidents Stephanie Gleitz, Claire Ware, and Lindsey Edgar. Chelsea Parsons will serve as secretary and oversee the Spirit Shop, while Brandi Green will handle treasurer duties.

Ad sales for the 2025 football programs are now underway. Green, along with Cari Heatly, Edgar, Parsons, Erica Wheeler, and Audrey Peterson, will manage advertising sales this season. Ads are available in business card, quarter page, half page, and full page sizes.

Those who purchased ads last year will be contacted soon, but the club encourages new businesses or individuals interested in advertising to reach out to a Booster Club member. Sales will continue until Aug. 1.

The Booster Club will hold its annual kickoff meeting at 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4 at The Feed Store. Parents, fans, and community members are invited to attend to learn how they can support Albany’s student-athletes and connect with others in the community.

The annual Ice Cream Supper is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11 at the Bank Park. Volleyball, football, cross country athletes, and cheerleaders will be introduced. Cubs Cheer Camp participants will perform during the evening event, and a photo of the senior athletes will be taken, with details to be announced soon.

High school cheerleaders will provide ice cream, and a photo of senior athletes will be taken before the event, with details to be provided later. The Spirit Shop will not be set up during the Ice Cream Supper but will open afterward at the football stadium.

The season officially kicks off Friday, Aug. 29, with a home game against Stamford.

The Albany Athletic Booster Club encourages all parents and fans to get involved and show their support for the Lions this fall.
