Basketball teams host local tournament

Both the Moran Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs finished fourth over the weekendattheMoranBulldog Holiday Tournament.

Both teams returned to action Tuesday, Dec. 5, hosting Trent. Results will be reported next week.

The Lady Bulldogs (1-6) notchedtheirfirstvictoryof the season Thursday, Nov. 30, beating Lueders-Avoca 28-20. The Moran girls lost 40-18toPaintCreekonFriday, Dec. 1, and fell 51-10 toGarnerinthethird-place game on Saturday, Dec. 2.

AgainstLueders-Avoca, Moran trailed 10-7 at halftime before taking the lead with an 18-1 edge in the third quarter. Kielar Carr led Moran with 14 points. Maekayla Kersey added nine with Kacenda Thompkins scoring four and Rayni Vinson one.

Against Paint Creek, Carr scored eight points withKerseyaddingsixand Katie Breeden four.

Against Garner, Carr scoredsevenpoints,Kersey had two and Emma Mc-Cullough scored one.

The Moran boys (3-2) opened the tournament by beating Lueders-Avoca before dropping the next two games. Final scores and details were not available.
