Athletes set for FCA All-Star Festival

By Melinda L. Lucas

Two Albany seniors and one from Moran will represent their schools at the 2025 Big Country FCA All-Star Festival, scheduled for June 5-7 in Abilene and Brownwood.

Albany’s Abi Hale will compete in the Bev Ball All-Star Volleyball Classic on Thursday, June 5, at 7 p.m. at Moody Coliseum on the campus of Abilene Christian University. Myleigh Leveridge has been named to the all-star cheer squad and will participate in events held in Abilene throughout the week.

Moran’s Ellis Hise will represent his school in the All-Star men’s basketball game on Friday, June 6, at 7 p.m., following the women’s contest.

Three other Albany athletes were selected earlier this year but will not participate in the festival. Landon Balliew was chosen for the 26th annual Myrle Greathouse All-Star Football Classic, which is set for Saturday, June 7, at 10 a.m. at Shotwell Stadium in Abilene. Chip Chambers was named to the baseball roster for the All-Star Games at Brownwood High School’s Fame Fields on Thursday, June 5, at 6:30 p.m. Caroline Holson earned selection for the All-Star women’s basketball game but will not suit up when the teams tip off Friday, June 6, at 5 p.m. at Moody Coliseum.

This year’s FCA All-Star Festival will feature standout senior athletes from across the Big Country competing in football, volleyball, baseball, softball, basketball and cheerleading. All events are free to the public and celebrate not only athletic achievement but also Christian fellowship and sportsmanship.
