Nine high school seniors and one coach from Shackelford County have been selected to participate in the Big Country Chevy Dealers 2022 FCA All-Star Festival.

More than 325 athletes representing 88 high schools will compete in basketball, baseball, football, golf, softball, and volleyball in addition to cheerleaders for two locations.

The festival starts June 4 with girls and boys basketball games at Brownwood. On June 6-7, the all-star golf tournament will be played on the Kingdom Course at Eastland’s Solid Rock Camp. The softball and baseball games will be played June 10 in San Angelo, with volleyball and football all-stars competing June 11 in Abilene.

Albany had seven selections and Moran had two.

Albany pitcher Ana Balliew was chosen for the softball game, while outfielder Cooper Fairchild will play in the baseball game.

The volleyball match will include Albany’s Sarah Cotter and Moran’s Johnnie Hise on the North team. Moran coach Jo Hise will serve on North’s coaching staff.

Three Albany football players were selected. Linebacker Brooks Neece and running back Jaheim Newton were named to the Red team, while offensive lineman Bryce Asher will play for the Blue team.

Cheerleaders Savannah Hobbs of Albany and Hannah Rogers of Moran were tabbed to cheer at the Abilene events.
