Albany tennis returns to action after spring break
By Sam Waller
The Albany tennis program returned to competition following spring break Tuesday, March 18 at the Abilene High tournament.
Results will be reported next week.
Albany’s next outing is Monday, March 24 at Vernon with two more tournaments on the schedule before the District 10-2A tournament on Monday-Tuesday, April 21-22 at Abilene’s Rose Park Tennis Center.
“We’re looking to get some good competition and get as much play in as we can before district,” coach M.J. Reneau said. “I like that we’re going to Vernon and Abilene because we see different teams each time we go.”
Junior High
Reneau said junior high tennis will begin practice the first week of April after the completion of the junior high track season.
“They just need to bring a racket,” she said.
The junior high has a meet with Zephyr on April 24 and the district tournament April 28-29.
