Five members of the Lady Lions softball team received recognition on the 2018 Collin Street Bakery/Texas Sports Writers Association Class 2A All-State Team.

Senior Lindsey Lucas and freshman Elia Hebel both were selected for first team honors, with three other players receiving honorable mention.

Albany finished the season with a 28-8 record, going 10-0 in district and earning the Region I title.

Lucas, who graduated in May, was named to the first team at second base position. She plans to attend Hardin-Simmons University and play softball.

Hebel was picked as the first team third baseman. She has continued playing on a select team during the summer.

Receiving honorable mention was Albany pitcher Reyna Garcia, who also graduated in May. She plans to play softball at McMurry University.

Also named as honorable mention players were senior Kaley Smith, who was selected at the first base position, while sophomore Caitlyn Holson was picked at catcher.
