Albany hosts jr. high track meet

Albany hosted the District 10-2A junior high track and field meet Saturday, April 2, taking on athletes from Anson, Cisco, Hamlin, Haskell, Hawley, and Stamford.

The Cubs placed fourth in the eighth grade boys division with 74 points and tied for third in the seventh grade boys division with 93 points.

The Lady Cubs placed fifth in the eighth grade girls team standings with 60 points and second among seventh grade girls with 84 points.

Winning events for the Cubs were Mason McCloy in the eighth grade boys pole vault, Wesley Gleitz in the seventh grade boys shot put, and Jack Nail in the seventh grade boys long jump.

In the seventh grade girls division, Charlee Hefner won the long jump and joined Ashlyn Miller, Brooke Richards, and Zayne Lefevre on the winning 800 relay team.
