Albany will host a four-team bracket for the Texas West Little League District 5 Machine Pitch tournament Saturday, June 10, at the Albany Little League complex.

Albany Little League president Paul Hamilton said the tournament schedule has not been released yet, but games will start at 10:00 a.m. Saturday.

The bracket winner will advance to the next stage of the tournament in Abilene.

On Friday, June 3, Albany’s Major and Minor All-Stars hosted Jim Ned teams for practice games. Hamilton said scores were not available, but Albany lost the Minors game and was trailing in the Majors game when play was halted because of a thunderstorm.

All-Star teams will begin play in the District 5 tournament on Friday, June 16. Pairings are to be announced.

“We don’t know yet if we’re hosting on that,” Hamilton said. “We’ve put our name in to host.”
