Albany girls to compete in USA  Softball national championship

A group of young athletes from Albany will represent their town on the national stage this weekend as members of the Twisted Sisters, a regional team competing in the USA Softball National Championship in Wichita Falls.

The team includes six girls from Albany: Kynlee Milligan, Mackenzee Roysdon, Avery Gleitz, Hailey Gleitz, Sawyer Shoaf, and Tinley Hefner. They’ll be joined by four additional players from Cisco, Hawley, Breckenridge, and Abilene to complete the 10-player roster. Tim Milligan is coaching the team.

Competing in the 14U age division, the Twisted Sisters are guaranteed at least five games. Pool play begins Friday, July 25, followed by bracket play on Saturday, July 26. The championship game is scheduled for Sunday, July 27. All games will take place at the Sunrise Optimist Complex in Wichita Falls.

Tournament results will be reported in next week’s paper.
