Albany anglers complete season at Lake Brownwood

By Sam Waller

Albany FFA members Jacob Knight and Brycen Turnbow wrapped up their season in the Texas High School Bass Association on Saturday, March 22 with the final West Division tournament at Lake Brownwood.

The duo caught several fish but did not submit them for weigh-in. The event drew 145 anglers, more than half of whom did not report a catch.

Knight and Turnbow were responsible for their own fundraising and lined up several sponsors, according to Albany FFA advisor Chris Beard.

“I would like to thank all the sponsors for helping these young men as well as boat captains Troy Bradford, Michaela Bradford and Rob Hudman for donating their time, boat, truck and knowledge,” Beard said. “Also, thanks to Shawna Knight for keeping the books and making sre the students had what they needed to be successful.”

Beard is looking for more boat captains for next year as well as sponsors to help build the THSBA program in the Albany FFA chapter.
