Albany High School ranked fourth in Class 2A in the mid-year Lone Star Cup standings, released lastweekbytheUniversity Interscholastic League.

Albanyearned22points in the fall semester behind Tolar, Falls City, and Timpson. The top eight schools in Class 2A are separated by just four points.

As of Jan. 18, standings included cross country, marching band, volleyball, Robotics BEST, football, Congress, and spirit.

Albany scored 18 points in football for winning the Class 2A Division II state championship and four in volleyball for reaching the area round of the playoffs.

The Lone Star Cup is awarded annually to six high schools, one in each of the six classifications, basedonteamperformance indistrictandstatechampionships. Winningschoolsin each classification receive a trophy and a $1,000 scholarship.
