Members of the Albany High School tennis team were on local courts March 9, hosting players from Cisco and Breckenridge in a tri-meet to prepare for next month’s district tournament.

Local players will host Anson and Rotan on Monday, March 22. Those results will be reported next week.

“These practice meets are beneficial for us because we can get several short matches in within a short amount of time,” said coach Sara Wilson. “The kids can then go on to their next activity.”

With athletes often participating in multiple events in the spring, their on-court time is limited, Wilson said.

“We are working hard in practice every day,” she added.

Sidney Russell defeated Breckenridge #2 6-1, then defeated Cisco #1 6-1.
