After being limited to just one tournament last summer, Albany’s 7-on-7 program will get at least two in this year.

Albany will attend the Texoma tournament Saturday, June 3. The local team, coached by Kevin Hill and Tony Wheeler, is also entered in the Abilene tournament on Friday, June 9.

Both events allow Albany opportunities to qualify for the 7-on-7 State Tournament, scheduled for Thursday-Saturday, June 22-24, at College Station.

At the Texoma tournament, Albany will play in Pool D with Archer City, Electra, and Jacksboro. Albany games are scheduled for 9:40 a.m., 10:20 a.m., and 12:20 p.m.

Pools C and D will play at Wichita Falls City View with the pool winners playing at 1:30 p.m. for a state berth.

Hill said 12 players, including eight returners from the 2022 varsity, are expected to participate for Albany.
