AGC season opener in the books

Albany Golf Club kicked off its tournament season this past weekend with the annual Christmas for Kids tournament, raising $8,500 to help provide gifts for local children in need this holiday season.

The event topped last year’s total of $7,500, thanks to strong participation and generous donations.

Teams competed across three flights in the scramble-format tournament, with the top finishers as follows:

Championship Flight

1st – Thompson, Cauble, Hargett

2nd (tie) – Nelson, Chapman, Clegg; Walker, Anderson, Anderson

3rd – Link, Hawkins, Fuller

First Flight

1st – Sargent, Sargent, Swayne

2nd – Woods, Woods, Eades

3rd (tie) – Bush, Jake, Spencer; Kirby, Holson, Oliver

Second Flight

1st (tie) – Nick, Garcia, Garcia; Cox, Baily, Davis

3rd (tie) – Brown, Waller, Childress; Maberry, Ware, Sutton; Sanders, Montez, Thornquest
