8U softball event planned

Albany’s Red Thunder softball team is sponsoring an 8U softball tournament May 17-18 at Webb Park, according to Ragan Riley, organizer.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the tournament was already full, and no more entries were being accepted, Riley said.

Proceeds from the tournament will help pay for the state tournament in Abilene June 7-8.

Sponsors of the tournament will provide a concession stand and invite all to attend while also enjoying the rescheduled car show downtown.
