The eighth grade Lady Cubs traveled to Woodson on Sept. 25, bringing home a win.

The team was the only squad to play last week. The 7A girls played Strawn on Tuesday, but results were not available at press time.

Two of the junior high girls teams will host Hawley on Monday, Oct. 8 starting at 4:30 p.m.

The eighth graders defeated Woodson 25-12, 25-23 last week.

“The girls did a really good job the first set and were very consistent,” coach Sara Wilson said. “We missed too many serves in the second set, but we pulled out the win.”

The coach commended Chelsy Parsons for playing a good defensive game.

Scoring on serves were Gracie Price 11, Ella Webb 1, Presley Green 2, Briley Tabor 3, Haily Cox 6, and Brooke Kayga 3.

Kayga was named offensive standout, while Tabor was picked for defense.
