Four Albany Lions were among 29 players named to the Texas High School CoachesAssociationSuper Elite Class 2A team.

Adam Hill was named Defensive MVP, with Jaxson Hoel named to the defense. Cason Fairchild and Zane Waggoner were named to the offense.

The four were all seniors as Albany went 16-0 and repeated as Class 2A Division II state champions The Super Elite team includedanOffensiveMVP and Utility Player with 12 players on offense, 12 on defense, and two special teams selections. Players were drawn from both Division I and Division II programs.

Hill recorded 103 total tackles with 29 tackles for loss and 15.5 sacks. He also rushed for 2,641 yards and 43 touchdowns on offense.

Hoel led the Lions with 158 tackles, including 80 solo, 10 for loss, and three sacks. He also had five QB hurries, broke up six passes, forced a fumble, andrecoveredtwofumbles. He was a first-team alldistrict selection.

Fairchild was Albany’s leading receiver with 70 receptions for 1,191 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also rushed for 119 yards and a score on 10 carries.

Waggoner graded 96 percent with 64 pancake blocks and no sacks allowed as an offensive tackle.
