2 MISD holidays scheduled

The Moran Independent School District will be closed on Monday, Jan. 18 in observance of Martin Luther King Day. 

Classes will resume at the usual times on Tuesday, Jan. 19.

MISD also will have a student holiday on Friday, Jan. 22, to enable students to attend the county stock show. 

Teachers and staff will have a comp day on Friday, Jan. 22. 

The next district holiday at MISD will be on Monday, Feb. 15 in observance of Presidents Day. 

Classes will release on Friday, March 12, and Spring Break is set for March 15-19. 

SCYLA Stock Show

Several Moran students will be showing project animals at the the upcoming Shackelford County Youth and Livestock Show. 

The stock show barn clean-up day is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 16 starting at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 12:00 noon or earlier.

Shackelford County 4-H members, Albany and Moran FFA students, and parents of all of the exhibitors are expected to help.

The livestock show will kick off next week with weigh-in for hogs, lambs, and goats on Thursday, Jan. 21, and weigh-in for poultry, rabbits, and cattle on Friday, Jan. 22.
