The Albany High School class of 1988 will host the fourth annual Junior Garcia Memorial Golf Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 13 at the local golf course, starting at 8:00 a.m., with proceeds going to help support local charities and scholarships for local graduates.

The format for the event will be similar to past years, according to organizer James Sanders.

Entry fees are $300 per golf team for the four person best ball golf scramble, with tee times at 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

“We still have openings for both tee times, but the afternoon times are filling fast,” Sanders said. “People can call me to check on tee times. After the tournament will be a fajita dinner, music, several raffles, and a few auction items.”

The golf registration provides entry to the fajita dinner. Others are welcome to join in the evening meal and fun for $20 per ticket.

Sponsorships are available at several levels and include a single hole sponsor for $150, $300 for a team, or $400 to sponsor a golf team and a hole.

The Garcia Memorial is an official 501c3 non-profit organization, so donations are tax deductible.

“The funds that we raise are used to support local charities and provide graduating seniors with scholarships,” Sanders said. “We have given approximately $30,000 in scholarships to AHS seniors.”

Auction and raffle items are still being accepted.
