Four Albany seniors are among the 278 top athletes and cheerleaders of the area who make up the 2019 all-star class for Big Country Chevy Dealers Fellowship of Christian Athletes All-Star Festival, announced Sunday.

Representing Albany High School will be Cameron Dacus on the Red football team, Cutter Edgar on the Blue football team, Joshua Dyer on the North baseball team, and Ryan Hill on the North men’s basketball team.

The football teams are designated by color, red and blue, because they are selected by an actual draft of players.

Players were introduced to the media on Sunday before attending orientation meetings with organizers and coaches.

Members of the teams were nominated by their head coaches for the all-star games, which feature 71 schools from an approximate 100-mile radius of Abilene covering 37 counties.

All participants will be honored again at the All-Star Induction & Awards Banquet on Sunday, May 5 at 4:00 p.m., in the Abilene Civic Center.

The four local athletes are in the process of raising funds for expenses associated with the all-star games. County residents can purchase an ad in the FCA program, or help sponsor a table at the festival.

The 2019 Big Country Chevy Dealers FCA All-Star Festival includes ladies and men’s basketball at the Coliseum in Brownwood on Saturday, June 8, baseball and softball at Angelo State University in San Angelo on Friday, June 7, and both volleyball and football scheduled for Saturday, June 8 in Abilene.

All proceeds benefit the Big Country Chapter of the FCA.
