Albany High School’s juniors and seniors will make memories on Saturday, May 6 at the annual Junior/Senior Prom, including the crowning of the Prom King and Queen.

The event will be held from 8:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. at the Whitney Theatre, sponsored by the junior class, sponsors, and parents.

The theme this year is “A Night to Remember,” with music provided by disc jockey Brandon Johnson of Abilene.

The crowning of the king and queen is set for 9:00 p.m. Juniors and seniors voted on four boy and four girl nominees to determine the king and queen.

Members of the two classes received one ticket each without charge and can bring one guest at a cost of $10. Underclassmen can only attend if they are a guest of a junior or senior.

The prom will feature a lighted dance floor this year, along with other decorations including fresh flowers.

Finger foods and water will be served.

Students and their dates will be greeted by fathers of the juniors providing valet parking and a red carpet entrance.

A 360 photo booth will be provided for students to use with cell phones, and Albany photographer Chelsea Parsons plans to set up a backdrop for formal photos with digital images given to those attending. The junior class is covering the cost of the photos.
