WINFORD SARGENT

Winford (Sarge) Sargent, age 67 of Albany, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021. Graveside funeral services with full military honors were held Monday, Dec. 13 at Albany Cemetery with Clint Chapman officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Winford Dennis Sargent was born June 24, 1954 in Albany, Texas to Walter Dennis “WD” Sargent and Margie Sue Moore Sargent. He married Tracey Dover on Jan. 9, 1988 in Abilene. 

Sarge enlisted in the United States Navy in 1973 and was honorably discharged in 1975. He never met a stranger and helped everyone he could. Sarge loved Albany and was proud to call Albany home. He will be remembered as the best husband, dad, grandpa and friend. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, WD and Margie Sargent.

Sarge is survived by his wife, Tracey Sargent of Albany; four daughters, Susan Sargent of Abilene, Becky Sargent of Breckenridge, Krystal Sargent of Clyde, Ashley Wood of Temple; one son, Kyle Sargent and wife Taylor of Godley; three brothers, Tommy Reeves and wife Sandy of Johnson City, Stanley Sargent of Albany, Burr Sargent of Snyder; 13 grandchildren and one very special grandson, Hudson Dennis Sargent.

Services for Georgia Bowsher Barrett will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18 at Albany Methodist Church. A full obituary will be printed next week.

Leonard Wes Isbell, 62, of Albany passed away Monday, Dec. 6. A funeral service was held Dec. 11 at First Baptist Church of Stamford, with burial following in Anson.
