Wilford W. Noack, long-time Abilene resident, passed away on June 25, 2023, in Horseshoe Bay, TX. He was just five weeks shy of his 95th birthday.

He was born on July 27, 1928, in Shackelford County, TX to Willie and Frieda Noack. He attended public schools in Albany TX. Wilford proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict, drafted in February 1951. He was on Active Duty until 1953 and Active Reserve until 1956.

Wilford married Alline Boettcher in July of 1951, and they were parents to two daughters, Tammy and Rhonda. They remained married until Alline’s passing in 1997.

Wilford worked most of his life as a heavy machinery operator and Foreman for Bontke Bros Construction, where he was known affectionately as “Willie” by all who worked with him.

Wilford was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Albany, TX, during his early years, and later became a founding member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Abilene, TX.

In his free time, Wilford enjoyed spending time on his farm and with his cattle. He also enjoyed deer hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.

Wilford is survived by his daughters Tammy Noack and Rhonda Robinson and Rhonda’s husband Chris; grandchildren Benjamin, Cooper, and August Robinson; and sisters Janell Janke, Joan Borrello (John) , and Elfrieda Smith. He was preceded in death by his wife Alline Noack and sister Sylvia Bernstein.

Funeral services will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Abilene, TX, on Friday, June 30, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. PD
