Ruel Tabor, age 104 of Moran, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2020. A graveside service was held at the Moran Cemetery Pavilion Monday, Nov. 16 with Pastor Jerry Shields officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Ruel Elizabeth Rice was born Nov. 4, 1916 in Sedwick, Texas to parents, John Rice and Hattie Scott Rice. She grew up in Shackelford County and attended Moran High School. Two years later, she married Boyd Tabor on June 27, 1936 in Moran. 

Mrs. Tabor was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church in Moran and was a devout Christian. She loved her family and was well known for her excellent cooking. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Tabor; her son, Barney Tabor; her parents, John and Hattie Rice; three sisters, Ruth Breeden, Ruby Yergin and Margie Hammonds.

Mrs. Tabor is survived by her daughter-in-law, Nena Tabor of Moran; two twin granddaughters, Gay Williams of Moran, Kay Shields and husband Jerry of Colorado City; three great grandsons, Caleb Shields, Clayton Shields and Rob Williams; and numerous nieces and nephews.
