Rickey Edgar, age 69 of Albany, passed away Friday, Oct. 2, 2020. Graveside funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 4 in the Moran Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Pleasant officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.  

Rickey Doyle Edgar was born June 20, 1951 in Albany, Texas, to parents Richard Wines Edgar and Bonnie Lee Garrett Edgar. He graduated from Moran High School and then served in the United States Army. 

After his honorable discharge, he was self-employed in construction all over Shackelford and surrounding counties such as Eastland and Stephens. 

During that time he rocked First National Bank in Albany, the Moran Cemetery and many houses in the area. 

Rickey was a family man and enjoyed watching any and all sports the kids played. He also enjoyed playing bingo and dominoes. 

Rickey was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Bonnie Edgar; one sister, Patsy Scott; and four brothers, Jackie Edgar, Earl Edgar, Jimmy Edgar and R.W. Edgar.

He is survived by his children, Barbara Kay Horneck of Brownwood, Christina Edgar of Kerr-ville, Devon Horneck of Abilene, Heidi Kelly of Albany, Jacob Horneck of Springtown, Jeremy Henson; two brothers, Tommy Edgar of Albany and Billy Edgar of Cisco; numerous grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
