Olivia Reames, age 85 of Albany, passed away Monday, Dec. 5, 2022. Graveside services were held Wednesday, Dec. 7 at the Albany Cemetery pavilion with Jeff Pleasant officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Olivia Mae Salters was born July 19, 1937 in Olney, Texas to Gordon Salters and Nancy Catherine Sides Salters. She graduated in May of 1955 from Albany High School. She met John Douglas Reames in October of 1954 on a blind date. They were soon married on June 14, 1955.

She was involved in the Bluebonnet Study Club, the Lioness Club and 4-H Club. She also worked for Albany ISD and at the Shackelford County courthouse and helped out with the elevator. She cooked many a meal for the working hands and for anybody who needed a meal. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, John Reames; her parents, Gordon and Nancy Salters; two sisters, Bette Irene Stone and Mona Hart; and one brother, Gordon Salters.

Mrs. Reames is survived by one son, John Ross Reames and wife Ramona of Albany; one daughter, Melissa Lee and husband Richard of Albany; brother-in-law, Tom Hart of Abilene; five grandchildren, Ace Reames and wife Lori of Albany, Josh Reames and wife Amanda of Seminole, Erica Wheeler and husband Tony of Albany, Cody Lee and wife Mackenzie of Stamford, Brandi Jenkins and husband Charlie of Hamlin; five great grandsons; four great granddaughters; and her special companion, Sweetie.

The Reames family would like to thank everyone at Villa Haven and Solaris Hospice for all the loving care and attention they gave to her.
