NORMA OLIVER MILES

Norma Oliver Miles, age 78 of Abilene, passed away Friday, Oct. 26, 2018. A memorial service was held Monday, Oct. 29 in the pavilion at the Albany Cemetery with Chaplain Jim Hargrove officiating. Services were entrusted to Morehart Mortuary of Albany.

Norma Oliver was born Dec. 20, 1939 in Nimrod, Texas to parents, Norman Oliver and Annie Burge Oliver. She married Richard Lee Miles, Jr. on May 30, 1962 in Juarez, Mexico. 

Norma was a caregiver and loved visiting with her friends and caring for her family. She always “kept her feet clean” and adored Sam Elliott and Chuck Norris. Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Lee Miles, Jr.; her parents, Norman and Annie Oliver; and one brother, Leroy Oliver.

Norma is survived by her two daughters, Kimberly Miles of Abilene, and Benita Swancy of Henrietta, Oklahoma; one brother, J.C. Oliver and wife Judy of Abilene; three grandchildren, Beth Lund and Miles Swancy, both of Spokane, Washington, and Tori Miles of Abilene; five great grandchildren, Caleb, Codie, Carson, Sage, and Annika.

The family of Norma Oliver Miles would like to sincerely thank everyone at Interim Hospice of Abilene for the love and excellent care they provided for her.
