Melba Jean Tankersley Graham, age 67, and Jim Graham, age 82, both of Albany, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018. Graveside funeral services were held Friday, June 8 in the Albany Cemetery with Pastor Pete Parker officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Melba Jean Tankersley was born in Dallas, Texas to parents, Jim Tankersley and Anna Schkade Tankersley on March 19, 1951. She worked for Albany Independent School District as an aide. She enjoyed working on the house and in the yard. James Clayton Graham was born in Graham, Texas to parents, Robert Graham and Beulah Hoosier Graham on Dec. 13, 1935. Jim worked in the oilfield until he retired in 2014. He enjoyed hunting arrowheads in his spare time. The two were married on Feb. 14, 1979 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They both loved spending time with their family, especially their grandchildren. Melba was preceded in death by her father, Jim Tankersley. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and one sister. They are survived by four children, Amy Jones and husband Cory of Throckmorton, Teresa Grothe and husband Jimmey of Albany, Vickie Chesser and husband Gary of Snyder, Mike Graham and Debbie of Albany; seven grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. Mrs. Graham is survived by her mother, Anna Tankersley of Albany; one brother, James Tankersley and wife Glenda of Magnolia; and one niece, Sara Tankersley. Mr. Graham is survived by one sister, Nancy Meador. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice and may be left at Morehart Mortuary.
