MARVIN SCHKADE

Marvin James Schkade passed away peacefully on May 22, 2021 at the age of 83 in Forney, Texas. 

He was born on Nov. 22, 1937 to Bernharde Herman Schkade and Alma Marie Handrick Schkade in Albany, Texas. He graduated from High School in Albany Tx. He played tennis for the University of Oklahoma and finished up his Bachelor and Masters degrees at the University of North Texas. 

He married Helen Jones, and they had three children, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. 

Marvin was in education for 33 years as a coach, teacher and a principal. He retired as a principal and coach in Farmersville ISD. 

After his retirement, he enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in their numerous extracurricular activities. If he was not at a game, he was in the pasture, on his porch, or sitting on the tailgate of his truck. He loved his farm. He loved raising and caring for all of his animals, especially Hank. Marvin left a footprint on all of the lives he came across during his career and life. 

He is survived by his three children; Steve ­Schkade and wife Lea Ann of Garland, Texas; Ben Schkade and wife Amy of Farmersville, Texas; and Angela Schkade and Jarrod Morgan of Wills Point, Texas. Marvin is also survived by his six grandchildren; Derrick Schkade and wife Chelsea, Kristina DeLozier and husband Corey, Laramie Schkade, Makaelea Power and husband Mickey, Larson Schkade, and Jace Daniel, as well as three great-grandchildren; Grace Schkade, Mattie Power, and Loklyn Power. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Alice Remmele and husband Elbert; sister Emajean Moody and husband Jack; sister Evelyn Gosler and husband Zack; and by his brother Robert Schkade. 

The funeral service will be held at the Methodist Church in Farmersville, Texas on Thursday, May 27, at 4:00 p.m. Burial will be at Albany Cemetery on Friday, May 28, at 12:00 p.m. 

Pallbearers include Derrick Schkade, Laramie Schkade, Larson Schkade, Jace Daniel, Corey DeLozier, and Jarrett Blessing. 

Honorary pallbearers include Richard Hill, Benji Cox, Trey Williams, Jim Wood, Donald Sazama and Clifford Teinert. 

 Officiating the services is Bro. Rick Ballard. PD
