Marlyn Pratt

Marlyn Pratt, 78 of Granbury, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, May 17, 2025. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 24th at First Baptist Church in Albany with Cody Lain officiating. Interment followed in the Albany Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Marlyn Lanette Ledbetter was born January 10, 1947 in Albany, Texas to Clarence Elmer Ledbetter and Sarah Naomi Woodard Ledbetter. She graduated from Albany High School. On March 27, 1967, Marlyn married Dewayne Pratt in Albany. She worked as a bus driver for years. Marlyn wasn’t always the softest or most refined lady that society sometimes expects one to be, but she would walk through hell and spit in the devil’s eye for her loved ones that she stood a lifetime defending. Many will remember her as a devoted wife, mother and friend. She lived a proud and respectable life that was full of happiness, sorrow, and disappointments but she always moved forward with the strength and conviction that tomorrow would be a better day. As we mourn her death, she celebrates with friends and family that have gone before. So, with Jesus’ love, we don’t say goodbye, we just say “See you soon, Mama.”

Mrs. Pratt was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Naomi Ledbetter; her husband, Dewayne Pratt; one sister, Linda Ledbetter; and one son, Clarence Pratt. She is survived by five children, Richard Pratt of Hico, Billy Pratt and wife Kerryn of Granbury, Charles Pratt and wife Trisha, Kenneth Pratt and wife Barbara, all of Stephenville, Steven Pratt of Granbury; twenty-three grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
