LOUISE SHELTON

Louise Estelle Garlitz Shelton was born Feb. 15, 1916 in Moran, Texas to Herman and Maudy May Brown Garlitz. She left her home here on earth on Nov. 1, 2020 at the age of 104 years. 

Visitation will be held Thursday, Nov. 5, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Morehart Mortuary in Albany. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, 2020 at the First Baptist Church in Albany. 

Burial will follow in the Ledbetter Cemetery at Fort Griffin, Texas. 

Louise had four brothers Clarence, Eugene, Otto and Homer, and five sisters Hazel, Viola, Willie Mae, Dorothy and Frances, all of whom preceded her in death. 

Louise graduated from Moran High School in 1934. On Feb. 14, 1937, she married Joe Shelton in Throckmorton, Texas. 

They had two children, Larry and wife Sandra Shelton of Albany, and Judy and husband John Kazda of Albany; five grandchildren, Keith and wife Kate Shelton of Chesterfield, VA; Brian and wife Courtney Shelton of Trophy Club, TX, Jeff Webb of Moran, TX, Justin Webb of Denton, TX, and Kacey Horn and husband Chris of Benton, AR; five great-grandchildren, Bailey and Parker Shelton, Jackson and Shelby Kiker, and Ella Webb. 

Louise also had many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly, and extended family Kay, Trae and Natalie Idom of Denton, TX and Ann Albin and husband Buddy, Christopher and Nick of Denton, TX. 

Louise was a member of First Baptist Church of Albany, TX and the 42 group at senior games on Friday at the library which she enjoyed so much. She always had a joke available wherever she went and loved making someone laugh. 

Pallbearers are Keith Shelton, Brian Shelton, Jeff Webb, Justin Webb, Chris Horn, Jackson Kiker and Parker Shelton. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shackelford County Library, the Senior Citizens Activity Center, or the Kirk Ledbetter Cemetery Association, and left at Morehart Mortuary. 

The family would like to thank Dr. Allen Schulz and his staff as well as the third floor Telemetry unit at Hendrick for their loving care of their mother.
