Lacy Roop, age 65 of Breckenridge, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2022. Graveside funeral services were held Wednesday, July 6 in the Albany Cemetery. Interment followed under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Lacy Dinsmoor was born on April 30, 1957 to parents, Arthur Henderson Dinsmoor and JoAnne Rose Dinsmoor in Albany, Texas. She attended school in Albany but later graduated from Midland High School in 1975. After graduation, she attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University College of Pharmacy and later Texas Tech University. In 1979,

Lacy moved to Breckenridge to help take care of her parents’ lake house. She began working at R.E. Dye Manufacturing, where she met the love of her life. On Nov. 1, 1980, she married Clarence David Roop in Midland.

Lacy loved horses and all things to do with Albany, especially the Fandangle. She enjoyed showing horses and was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association, the Texas Longhorn Registry and was one of the Prestigious Side Saddle Ladies in the Fandangle. Most of all, Lacy loved her family; spending time with them made her happy. Holidays were always big with her, and she enjoyed hosting her family and friends at the lake. She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, David Roop of Breckenridge; three sons, Michael Roop and wife Lacey of Cisco, Daniel Roop of Longmont, Colorado, James Roop and wife Katy of The Colony; one sister, Rose Ann Mayer and husband Ken of Mexico; three grandchildren, Kamron, Kyle, Lily; and numerous nieces and nephews.
