Justin Rodriguez, age 36 of Albany, known to his loved ones as JRod or George, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 27 at Bethel Assembly. Interment will follow in the Albany Cemetery.

Justin Palmer Rodriguez was born July 7, 1986 in Abilene, Texas to James Charles Rodriguez and Brenda Marie Kidd. He grew up in Albany and graduated from Albany High School in 2004. While in school, JRod loved playing football and baseball. He was dedicated and was an All-State Offensive Lineman in football. His impeccable work ethic continued as a pipeline welder. He and his best friend, Hondo, would work wherever the jobs took him. JRod never met a stranger, loved his family and friends with a big heart, and is known for giving the world’s best hugs. He will be closely remembered for his loving personality and his fun side that included the occasional practical joke.

He was preceded in death by his brother, James Charles Rodriguez, Jr.; grandparents, John and Betty Kidd, J.F. and Jean Rodriguez; and his great grandmother, Gladys Palmer Bond.

Justin is survived by his father, James Rodriguez; mother, Brenda Kidd; one sister, Heidee Lail and husband Sean; four nieces and nephews, Nathan, Hannah, Ethan and Emma Lail; his uncle, John Glenn Kidd; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and his two red heelers, Hondo and Crash.
