John Louis Kazda, age 78 of Albany, passed away Sunday morning, Jan. 3, 2021 at home with his family by his side. Services were held Friday, Jan. 8 at Jesus of Nazareth Catholic Church in Albany with burial following at Kirk Ledbetter Cemetery in Throckmorton County. 

John was born Jan. 27, 1942 in Waco, Texas, the son of Louis and Mary Pavlas Kazda. He was a 1960 graduate of Abbott High School and a 1964 graduate of Texas A&M University where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Education.

John worked as an Agronomist for the USDA-Soil Conservation Service in Texas and Tennessee for 32 years before retiring and moving to Albany, Texas in 1994. John was united in marriage to Judy Shelton Kazda in Gainesville, Texas on Dec. 10, 1979. 

He loved fishing, farming and being on a tractor. He was proud of his Czech heritage and enjoyed Polka music. John is preceded in death by his parents; two sons, James Kazda and Patrick Kazda; and his brother, Jerry Kazda and sister-in-law, Debbie Kazda.

Survivors include his wife, Judy; daughters, Ann Albin and husband Buddy of Denton, Kay Idom and husband Trae of Denton, Kacey Horn and husband Chris of Benton, Arkansas; step-sons, Jeff Webb of Moran, Justin Webb of Denton; one brother, Richard Kazda and wife Barbara; two sisters, Barbara Muehlstein and husband Frankie, Mary Carey and husband Dale; brother-in-law, Larry Shelton and wife Sandy; his beloved grandchildren, Chris Albin, Nick Albin, Natalie Idom, Jackson Kiker, Shelby Kiker, Breanne Green, Casady Jones Davalos, Ella Webb; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers were Trae Idom, Buddy Albin, Chris Horn, Chris Albin, Nick Albin and Jackson Kiker.
