JOAN STILWELL

Joan Stilwell, age 83 of Albany, passed away Sunday, Feb. 2, 2020. 

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, Feb. 7 at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene with Pastor Tim Trimble officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 6 at Morehart Mortuary.

Barbara Joan Arnold was born Feb. 19, 1936 in Richardson, Texas to Quincy Forgay Arnold and Olga Willie Walton Arnold. She graduated from Richardson High School in 1954 and later married Donald Leroy Stilwell in Albany on July 12, 1957. She kept the books and helped Mr. Stilwell at their family garage, Stilwell & Son Garage. Her hobbies included working in the yard and keeping up their home. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Stilwell; her parents, Quincy & Olga Arnold; six siblings, Grant, David, Richard, Lois, Thelma, and Ruth.

Mrs. Stilwell is survived by her daughter, Donna Lynn Gilstrap and husband Drexel “Dee” Sr. of Pecos; one grandchild, Dalton Stilwell Gilstrap; two step-grandchildren, Tawnya and Drexel Dee Gilstrap; one brother, Travis L. Arnold of Houston; one sister, Betty L. James of Princeton.
