Jimmy Ruff, age 72 of Albany, passed away Monday, June 13, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 16 at First Baptist Church in Albany with Pastor Paul Johnston officiating. Interment will follow in the Albany Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Jimmy Everett Ruff was born Dec. 27, 1949 in Albany, Texas to parents James Allen Ruff and Betty Jean Israel Ruff. He went to school in Albany and graduated from Albany High School in 1968.

After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Germany until his honorable discharge.

On July 18, 1970, Jimmy married Dianna Mitchell in Albany. He worked in the oilfield and was part of a family-owned corporation with his father and brothers, Ruff Oil, for many years. Jimmy had a heart of gold and a knack for storytelling. He loved his animals and enjoyed gardening. Jimmy was a member of the NRA, the American Legion and the VFW.

Preceded in death by his mother, Betty Ruff, and his wife, Dianna Ruff, Jimmy is survived by his two daughters, Chasady Browning and husband Billy Bob of Cisco, Heather Ruff of Littlefield; his father, James Ruff of Breckenridge; two brothers, Roy Ruff and wife Debbie, Bill Ruff and wife Bea; six grandchildren, Ashley Dendy, Kelly Dendy, Bo Browning, Bailey Browning, Cason Browning, Lillian Ford; and two great grandchildren, Karlina Perez, Rynleigh Browning.
