Jim Martin, age 48 of Midland, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018. A graveside service was held Saturday, Dec. 22 in the Albany Cemetery with Chuck Sheppard officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. 

James Lynn Martin was born Nov. 11, 1970 to Jackie Martin and Patricia Rogers Martin in Abilene, Texas. 

He attended school in Albany and graduated from Albany High School. After graduation, Jim attended Western Texas College in Snyder for two years. 

On July 25, 2014, he married Kim Tadlock in Midland. Jim was an avid roper and was involved in team roping. He even participated in the World Series of Team Roping. He was a member of the United Professional Rodeo Association and the Original Team Roping Association. 

He worked for Plains Pipeline as a pipeline operator. 

Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents, I.B. and Velma Rogers, and Doc and Blanche Martin; and three uncles, Joe Martin, Bobbie Martin, and Larry Rogers.

He is survived by his wife, Kim Martin of Midland; his parents, Jackie and Patricia Martin of Moran; one step-son, Dustin Juergens and wife Katie of Midland; one sister, Misty Miller and husband Henry of Lueders; and one grandchild, Emmitt Juergens.
