Jeanette Holson, age 99 of Albany, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2021. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 20 in the Albany Cemetery with Pastor Paul Johnston officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Jeanette Dorothy Mett­ing was born Aug. 13, 1921 in Yorktown, Texas to parents Herman Metting and Louise Wehe Metting. 

On Feb. 3, 1945, she married Doyle Wilson Holson in San Antonio. Jeanette worked at Davis Manufacturing for several years and then went to work at Eubanks Grocery and Holson Ice until her retirement. 

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Albany where she was active in the choir. Jeanette volunteered for many church activities, as well as at Lueders Camp. She also loved to dance and would often go dancing on Tuesday nights. 

Mrs. Holson was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Louise Metting; her husband, Doyle Holson; one brother and two sisters.

Mrs. Holson is survived by her three daughters, Kathy Mashburn and husband JR, Susan Balliew, Linda Holson; three grandchildren, Jeff Balliew and wife Carie, Tim Balliew and wife Candy, Treva Bowsher; four great grandchildren, Slone Balliew and wife Kristen, Sky Dockins and husband Johnny, Max Balliew, Ana Balliew; nine great-great grandchildren, Tucker Balliew, Luke Balliew, Claira Balliew, Madelyn Balliew, Creed Balliew, Zaiden Dockins, Zamiah Dockins, Zarren Dockins, Isaiah Dockins; and many members of the Holson family that have been a part of her life for many years.

Honorary pallbearers for the service will be Jeff Balliew, Tim Balliew, Max Balliew, Slone Balliew, Charles Ray Holson, Treva Bowsher and Ron Cook.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the nurses and staff at The Woodlands in Eastland, formerly Eastland Nursing Home and Rehab, for the love and care they gave to Mrs. Holson over the years.
